Parent Empowerment Program (PEP)

A seminar presented by the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County designed to assist parents in dealing with children with high risk behaviors.   Eight (8) hours of specifically designed parenting skills work.  Development of support systems to begin positive changes in the home.  The program is offered   four times a year with three classes per session.  The program is free to Court referred parents and/or guardians. The seminar includes: Parenting difficult adolescents Discipline and boundaries Managing behaviors Effective parent-child communication Resolving differences De-escalating conflicts Anger management strategies Conflict resolution scenarios Confronting substance abuse Increasing attachment to school Asking for help After school resources Developing a parenting plan Upcoming 2008 Seminar Dates: February 13, 20, 27 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. May 14, 21, 28 Location: The program is held in the Family Waiting Area of the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County.  It is located on the 2nd floor of the Circuit Court building on Church Circle in downtown Annapolis.
